    Description

    Ames Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber and Scabbard, in Excellent Condition. A very desirable Saber of the Last Ames Order of 1000 Sabers, 500 dated 1857 and 500 dated 1858. The Blade is excellent, could be cleaned or not and retains the original washer. T
    he Guard, Original Grip and Scabbard are all in very nice condition. This is a massive weapon earning the name Wrist Breaker and with the onset of the Model1860 men either loved or hated their 1840's. Blade is not rusty at all but could use a cleaning and polishing or left as is, I will polish the blade for an additional Fee.
