BAHNE 27" Vintage Skateboard - Chicago Trucks / Roller Sport Wheels (Read Below)

BAHNE 27" This is it guys.  Great price for this impossible to find vintage Fiberglass BAHNE Skateboard - Chicago Trucks / Roller Sport 1973 old school first release / original set up loose bearing wheels all in EXCELLENT Shape.  Old School and early Serial Number Board.  Being extremely particular as I am,  the board has a very minor ding to part of the nose and a minor paint scrape to "HN" on BAHNE logo but not down to the fiberboard, with some areas of minor rust to the trucks which could be easily shined up. (see photo's).  Thats it. All still in great condition and good luck to find any better.  It's a 10 in my 60 years of opinion.
BAHNE Skateboards were the very FIRST fiberglass skateboards to hit the market.  The little bounce / flex you got from these boards was just unreal!  It quickly became every kids dream here in the Southbay to own a BAHNE.
I've been lucky enough to spend time with both Bill and Bob Bahne.  Bill (BAHNE Surfboards) told me that in the early 70's he saw some kids skateboarding in a water channel with the wood boards when he was sitting at a street light.   Bill then thought, "hey, I bet I can make skateboards out of the fiberglass I bought which is too soft for my surfboards..."  So, he did! and that is how fiberglass flexing skateboards were born!
BAHNE Skateboards first came with these Chicago trucks, loose bearing and Roller Sport Urethane or Cadillac Wheels.  This model of Roller Sport Wheels were the very first urethane wheels ever made and used on skateboards.
Made by Creative Urethane, for Roller Sport Inc. (RSI) to be used on roller skates.   It was quickly found that these new experimental type urethane wheels did not slide well on the derby tracks and were a big flop.  So, as a kid, Frank Nasworthy and his buddy got these wheels for free from Creative Urethane in the early 1970's because they were just dumping them.  Frank put them on a skateboard and WOW!   Ultra smooth / quiet ride! Rocks?  No problem!!
Frank then took the Roller Sport Wheels to the Southern California Coast surf shops in 1973 and sold them on consignment.  They went over big time and history was made and urethane quickly took the place of Clay wheels!   When Frank ran out of these Vintage Roller Sport wheels, Frank contracted Creative Urethane to make this exact same Roller Sport Wheel for him but under his new "Cadillac" brand name which he etched in the side instead of "Roller Sport."
Bill Bahne (Owner of BAHNE Surf Shop) soon partnered with Frank Nasworthy and his new "Cadillac" wheels.   Bill later came out with his own "BAHNE Trucks" for BAHNE fiberglass boards and stopped using Chicago trucks.
