Description

Civil War Era Import Cavalry Sword measuring 40-1/2" overall with a blade length of 34-1/4". Photos show a yellow tint to blade, which is incorrect, the metal tone is more silver in color, great looking blade with spine of blade running straight into blade at point creating a enlarged false edge. Blade shows light wear, use, age patina light spots. No wire on grip, brass basket tight to sword and blade. Blade marked, "WEYERSBERG & CO. SOLINGEN". Single Scabbard shows partial black finish with age patina, loss. Both Union and Confederate Soldiers valued the Solingen Blades and many were used in battle.
