    Description

    Post Civil War Naval Officers sword. It's in the prettiest condition of any I've ever seen. The blade is 33.25 inches long and 6/8 inches wide. The blade is beautifully engraved with foliate designs and a shild with an anchor with fouled rope. No nicks or rust. The guard is also highly decorative with acorns,oak leaves and USN.Drop dead gorgeous patina. It retains the leather washer.The quillon is of a dolphin. The grip is ray skin and all the wire is there and tight. The pommel cap is an eagle surrounded by 13 stars.I'm not sure what year these were made but I know it's post war because the blade on the 1852 model is a little over an inch wide and 34 inches long. Other than that ,they're close to identical in appearance.
    This would make a beautiful display (especially if you are/were a Navy man. Thanks and Good Luck!
