    Description

    Tenor Crumhorn in C by Wood
    (Krumhorn, Krummhorn) originally purchased
    from the Early Music Shop. Pitch 440 Hz. It has two leather padded brass keys which extend the upper range. Originally, crumhorns played one octave. However, like most crumhorns (and other reed cap instruments) with keys, this crumhorn plays an octave and a half, from middle C to fifth line F (chromatic). I believe the body to be maple. It is stained dark and varnished. It is in great condition with very little visible wear and plays beautifully! Replacement reeds are readily available, or bassoonists should be able to build cane reeds for you. As a bassoonist, I built mine. Of course, the scrape and profile are a bit different.
    This kit includes one reed (plastic, long lasting, impermeable to water), thumb rest (essentially for orientation since there are no keys in the right hand), and velvet lined box with lid (has pockets for accessories, extra reeds, grease case, etc.), fingering chart and maintenance chart. I am the sole owner of this crumhorn. Available on approval. Buyer pays return shipping. Overseas buyers are responsible for customs and duties.
