U.S. Staff & Field Officer's Non-Regulation Sword Clauberg Solingen + Scabbard

Description

Very nice U.S. Non-Regulation Staff & Field Officer's Sword measuring 37-1/2" overall with a blade length of 32-1/4"  and 1-1/8" wide at the hilt.  Very nice + condition showing some age patina, wear, use.  Double fullered blade, broad one in the center and a small "blood groove" by the top/back area.  The blades are etched with floral sprays with winged eagle and ribbon around the head, "E Pluribus Unum".  The obverse also has the etched floral sprays with "U.S." near center.  5 tiny dings on blade edge.  Spine hilt back of blade marked, "IRON PROOF".  The ricasso is stamped, "W. CLAUBERG/SOLINGEN" in a ellipse around the figure of a man in armour.  The grip is rayskin and wrapped with twisted gilt wire.  Nickel finished guard with four branches and marked, "U.S." with Union Seal. Guard and blade are tight. Comes with a two ring Iron Scabbard. Scabbard fits nicely and tight at hilt.  A beautiful antique piece.  See photos for further details, clarification, and condition.
