    Description

    Rare US Civil War Model 1861 Sword Bayonet.
    The ricasso is marked "Collins & Co." over an illegible "Hartford" over "N." and on the reverse is "1861". There is a "5" on the flat side of the grip. The brass guard is tight and solid with several nicks mainly on the pommel and the crossguard. The blade appears sharpened but is a little sharp, some nicks, it has scattered age spots throughout
    with a little light surface rust, and the last 1/16" of the tip is slightly bent. Lock button is functional but does stick. Length of the blade measures 19 5/8" (1 1/16" wide x 1/4" thick) and overall the bayonet is 24 1/4"
    . The muzzle hole opening is 7/8"
