    S Civil War Model 1840 Wristbreaker Heavy Cavalry Officers Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "K&C" in an oval of dots which stands for Kirschbaum & Cie (or Co.). The grip is tight, the guard will move a very tiny bit only if you force it. The grip is missing 95% of the leather and about the same for
    the twisted wire wrap
    . The blade is unsharpened, the tip is sharp, no nicks, age spots with a little minor light surface rust scattered throughout, and has a slight bend to it. The scabbard is solid and has a couple small dings and light pitting scattered throughout. The scabbard is very tight on the last 1/2" by the ricasso on the in/out of the sword. The leather washer is missing. Length of the blade is 36" (1 1/4" wide and 3/8" thick), the sword is 41 5/8", and in the scabbard it is 43 1/2".
