US CIVIL WAR KNIFE SHEATH & FROG W/ CROSSED RIFLES LOGO - POSSIBLY CONFEDERATE

Up for auction is this fantastic and very rare US Civil War era leather fighting knife sheath and frog with brass infantry crossed Springfield rifle logo.  The piece measures about 11 inches long.  It is for a thin fighting knife/dagger.  I was told that this was for a Confederate Infantry soldier but I was unable to identify it personally so I will not guarantee this (any help from fellow eBayer's is greatly appreciated!).  Frog slides up and down on sheath for correct fit.  Sheath leather has some expected wear to finish, but not too bad for antique age.  Frog strap not complete (only partial) and top of sheath has wear/cut.  Bottom of sheath split at seam (see last picture).  Leather somewhat stiff but could be easily softened w/ conditioner.  We are selling as found, at the request of previous buyers of such items like this from us in the past.  See accurate pictures for complete condition.  A great and very rare piece offered with NO RESERVE!!
