Description
Post US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked "Ridabock & Co", "New York". The grip is tight but the guard does wiggle. The sharkskin grip shows light wear and the seem is exposed. The twisted wire is unraveled, it is broken into two separate pieces, and is missing a little less than an inch of wire. The clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, the tip is sharp, small nicks along the edges, and has very light minor age spots scattered throughout. The NCO style scabbard is solid with no dents, light surface rust scattered near the drag and throat. The number "12" is on the backside of the crossguard, the hanger mount and the drag. The washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 29 7/8"(11/16" wide x 3/16" thick)
, length of the sword is 35 3/8", and overall in the scabbard it is 37 3/4".
