Description
Post US Civil War Model 1860 Staff & Field Sword with Scabbard. Ricasso is marked "Bent & Bush" over "Boston, Mass.". The guard and pommel are tight but the grip is a tiny bit loose (will only move if you force it). The sharkskin grip shows light wear and is 97% complete. The twisted wire wrap is 100% complete. The double clamshell has the typical eagle with flags on it on one side and the folding side has a shield with swords, flags, and rifles, the folding side has a slight bend. The quillon has a lion face on it. The locking button under the folding clamshell is intact and functional. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, no nicks along the edges, and is mostly clean except for a few minor age spots on the lower third towards the tip. The scabbard is solid with no dents, 65% of the finish is gone, and both drag screw are missing but it is tightly in place. The washer is intact. Length of the blade measures 29 1/4" (5/8" wide x 1/4" thick), length of the sword is 35 9/16", and overall in the scabbard it is 37 3/8".Check out my other War items!!
