    Description

Here is an absolutely astonishing piece of history. This is a Nathan Starr Cavalry sword. Nathan Starr was the United States first sword manufacturer after the Revolutionary Wars making this an EXTREMELY desirable piece for any US history buff, war history buff, or sword history buff. The handle on this sword is in great shape, maintaining most of its original grip. The metal of the guard is in surprisingly very good shape as well given that it was made 2 centuries ago. The sword's scabbard is in great shape up to the top, where it has the tip missing and a few dents, being its only two flaws. There is almost no rust on the scabbard which is very nice as well. The blade shows excessive wear and has some slight pitting spots, but that is to be expected on swords this old. Near the hilt the sword is marked N. STARR, with the markings “US”, “P”, and “JN” as well. The blade has dulled slightly, but gets sharper toward the tip. The tip however is also dulled slightly but not chipped as some might come. The blade overall is in good shape and also fits the scabbard quite well. In total, a completely fantastic sword with an absolutely rich history of this country and of swords completely, a must have for any collection.
