Zurla - Zurna is a traditional Macedonian folk woodwind instrument.
Zurla is made from  3 years old  dried cherry wood, by craftsman who
has more than 30 years of experience in producing quality wood wind instruments
Dimension of the instrument is 55.3 cm ~ 21.77 inch long.
Zurla has seven holes and one thumb hole on the back side, and exhaust holes in the bottom, and a reed in the upper drive.
Zurla  plays two octaves of (approximately) the natural scale. Chromatic tones (D #, F #, A # and B #) can also be played by
changing the combination of pressure and coverage holes tones.
When playing, Zurla is held with both hands at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the sight.
The fingers of the left hand cover the lower four holes, while the fingers of the right hand cover the upper holes and thumb hole.
Flattened cane placed across the mouth and lips are touching the metal disk cover with plastic that helps facial muscles.
For playing this instrument requires technique of circular breathing.
This instrument has a distinctive, very loud and penetrating sound and almost always accompanied by drums.
Standard combines two zurla's and two drums.
